Muddy Church

In partnership with our mother church, St. Margaret’s of Antioch, St. John’s runs a Muddy Church session on the fourth Sunday of each month during summer. Muddy Church gives our children the opportunity to meet God through his wonderful creation, and takes place in St. Margaret’s wild and beautiful churchyard.

What is it? – If you haven’t heard of Muddy Church before, it is an opportunity to ‘wander and wonder’. We begin with a half-hour activity, usually centred on the natural world, such as planting seeds and making cuttings. We then spend half an hour exploring the churchyard, and experiencing creation, before going inside for refreshments. Entry is free, and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Muddy Church is a new venture for St. John’s and St. Margaret’s, and we look forward to sharing it with you.
In the meantime, here are some ideas to help you do Muddy Church activities at home.
